MORE than 250 people gathered at Echuca South Primary School to celebrate and remember their days wearing the maroon t-shirt on November 25.
With the whole school decorated with old photographs and walls for people to share memories and slideshows, people were able to reminisce and reflect on their childhoods.
A final assembly was held in The Shed with a few speeches to mark the occasion and everyone joined to recite the school oath for the last time.
Principal Karl Stenning commended the organising committee on its hard work in preparation for the event.
‘‘It was a terrific day,’’ he said.
‘‘It was a day to just celebrate our school and talk about the wonderful things that have happened here over the last 46 years.’’
Echuca South will soon merge with Echuca West Primary and Specialist School to form Echuca Twin Rivers Primary School.
A time capsule from 1984 was dug up and will be re-planted at the new school to be opened in 2034.
