LACHLAN Chumbley has the academic world at his feet after receiving his first preference.
The Moama Anglican Grammar student was offered a place at Monash University to complete a bachelor of engineering and commerce.
But he’s in the unusual position of hoping he gets his second preference after he was offered a scholarship at the same university to study a bachelor of engineering (honours)/master of engineering.
Lachlan said he hopes to work in robotics once he has finished his degree.
“I’m very happy to receive my first preference, but now I have to wait to see if I get the second preference,” he said.
“It’s a great feeling to know I’m in and I’m proud to have received the scholarship. “Robotics always seemed like an interesting field and it’s definitely something I want to pursue in the future.’’
